Adapter 56C to 56J
We have had a few customers inquire about adapting the mount to 56C motors. An adapter could offer a huge cost savings instead of replacing the motor or motor shaft. This is a modified taper mount to include a 7/16-20 thread. It's a shrink fit like the 56J taper. Very concentric and it will not come loose. This is the build log for those that might be interested how we make the part.
Start with a piece to 316L stainless round bar. Drill the pilot hole. Open the hole with an end mill.

Bore ID to diameter. Check the bore with a plug gauge. Machine the OD taper of the part.

Cut the part leaving it hanging rather than allowing the part to be fully cut off, preventing the risk of ejection damage. Mount the part on an expansion collet. Cut the thread major diameter.

Cut the thread relieve groove. Cut the 7/16-20 thread. Clean the parts in the ultrasonic cleaner.

Re-verify the bore. Heat the taper mount for installation. 56J adapter mounted on the 56C shaft.
