Explosion proof motor
A few customers run products and/or operate in locations that require explosion proof motors. Generally the customer installs a suitable motor, replacing the stock motor. Recently we shipped a couple machines to a salvage yard that required the XPFC (explosion proof, fan cooled) motor to meet code. Because the XPFC motor is longer than the stock motor we outfitted the machine with some simple riser blocks. Maybe this will help others who would like to use an XPFC motor.
The risers are cut in 2 inch lenghs from 3x3 0.25 inch square tube. The risers are cross drilled to accept the 3/8-16 bolts. This shows the risers installed on the legs. This is the machine with the risers installed.
